Bluegrass Junction from Sunday May 6, 2012. On this episode, we remember George “Goober” Lindsey (1929-2012). Lindsey is most wel-known for his part as Goober Pyle on the Andy Griffith Show and his stint on Hee Haw. Although he may not have been  bluegrass musician himself, Lindsey’s country comedy contributed to the ‘rustic’ humor that Bluegrass and Country music embraces.

Bluegrass Junction from Sunday April 22, 2012. This episode’s featured album was the famous “Will the Circle Be Unbroken, Vol. 1″ album that was recorded in 1971. It featured some of the best in Nashville and enlarged the bluegrass fan base by turning “new” listeners on to the sounds of traditional bluegrass & country. My friend and fellow music enthusiast, Rich Mullinax, dropped by the studio to share some background information on the “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” album and how comedian Steve Martin is linked to the making of this legendary album.

This is a very special episode of Bluegrass Junction from Sunday April 15, 2012. This was the first show I’ve done since the passing of the legendary Earl Scruggs. He was a hero to all Bluegrass fans and musicians alike. The entire two hours were devoted to Earl’s music and related material. I had the priviledge to have Buddy Blackmon join me as my in-studio guest for this special show. He shared stories about his work experience with Earl and insight on some of Earl’s music contributions over the years. Buddy’s interview begins one hour into this recording.

This will be a very memorable show as I payed tribute to one of my own personal heroes, Earl Scruggs(1924-2012).
