Friendly Folk #17
Last week was Seize the Airwaves, so there was no friendly folk! We missed y’all so much! To make up for it though, we’ve got some special folky specials!
WUOG interviewed Akron/Family the day before their show at the 40 Watt.
Also, Jason played a special set highlighting MV&EE who is Matt “MV” Valentine and his partner Erika “EE” Elder. The recording starts, already in progress, with The Tower Recordings and progresses through time to the most recent MV&EE work, Barn Nova. The sound is emblematic of the new weird america movement which is a heavy drone/reverb/lo-fi recording style.
