Halftime Hip Hop Show

Two weeks feels like an eternity when you are so used to giving the people a great show every week, and my apologies for that. Things kept coming up and I didn’t want to do a half-way done show. So to make it up, this week’s show will have a special start time of 6PM and if you do the math, that means a 6-hour show filled a slew of new and exclusive music, double dosages of Throwbacks, SoClassics, and Blue Lights, and whatever else we can jam in. So be sure to turn your radio dial to 90.5 three hours early. You don’t wanna miss a minute of it!!

My sincerest apologies for the last minute announcement. My fellow DJ Claire P. a.k.a. DJ I-D-Claire is embarking on a 24-hour DJ marathon which started at 6PM tonight (Friday) and going until 6PM tomorrow (Saturday). This of course will mean that there will be no HHHS for this week. But do not worry ladies and gents, dry your eyes, we will be back at it in full force next week. In the meantime, Claire got you covered like aluminum foil on a paper plate at your mom’s B-B-B-B-B-Barbecue for the next 24 hours so show my girl some love and enjoy the tunes. Also, don’t hesitate to make your voices heard by voting for this year’s Flagpole Music Awards. In the hip hop category, the nominees are:

Each nominee brings a different flavor to the urban music scene and all are deserving to win, but there can only be one, and that one is completely up to you. This weekend is a means of celebration in more ways than one. First things first, big shout out to all of the graduates (undergrad and grad), and last but certainly not least, to all the mothers , especially to my mom (Momma BlacqueStarr if you like haha), a great and joyous Mother’s Day. Now that that’s all the way, on to this week’s show which features another installment of Diamonds in the Rough, new music from the Cool Kids’, Statik Selektah, J Dilla and more. Plus, Deaf Judges are once again itching for the #1 spot for the trifecta on the Starting Line Up Countdown, but the competition has been fierce with the U.B.C. and Fokis gunning for that coveted spot. Also, I wanted to take the time and give much love to 90.5FM for the HHHS receiving the award for Best Speciality Show. The award means a lot to me and please believe that we are just getting started!!
