The color blue gives off nothing but that vibe of coolness and as refreshing as summer rain, and the listeners were very much feeling non-parched as we delivered the highly anticipated second installment of our still rather fresh new concert series “The Graffiti Sessions.” Vol. 2: “Blue Light District” featured the luscious acoustic sounds of Miss Kyshona Armstrong, the spiritual vibes of “The KalimbaMan” himself, Kevin Spears, and last but certainly not least the banging yet passionate aural sustenance from ATL’s own TwentyOne. And as a bonus, we were in for a sneak peak from both Loren Moore and Gwam, who will both be performing on future installments of the Graffiti Sessions (Dec. 4th and Dec. 18th respectively). Major shout-outs to everyone who were in the building that helped made “The Blue Light District” a success (Tommy, Nakeem, James, Nolan, DJ F.F. and DJ S.O.S.) and of course the listeners. We will be back at it this Friday (Nov. 27th) for a “Blacque Friday Special” but in the meantime, sit back and enjoy the fantastic voyage into “The Blue Light District!!”

And we killed them this week with a Double Dip of The Leak featuring HiPNOTT Records 1st Lady, Dasha, and the Dynamic Austrailian Soulful Hip Hop Duo, Cee & Bekah as both released their respective projects (Back 2 Tha Future and The Soul Movement 3: The Final Chapter) this week, and we were even in for a treat by having the lovely Dasha call in to further discuss her debut project. Also this week, Diamonds in the Rough was sprinkled out throughout the show as well as new music from the likes of Slum Village, The Strange Fruit Project, Felt, and so many more that we don’t wanna list them all here. You just gotta hit play to find it all out and trust that there’s nothing unlucky about this Friday the 13th show!! Haha! And of course, we want to pay major love and respects, to the late great Russell Jones a.k.a. the one and only O.D.B. as this week marks 5 years since his untimely death. Never imitated, never will be duplicated, and never forgotten. Rest in Love!! The WU Lives On Forever!!!

Plus new music from the likes of underground kings Jay Electronica, Gift of Gab, Masta Ace & Ed O.G., and Cunninglynguists. And finally on the Starting Line Up Countdown, with a lot of new entries, did anyone of them spoil Mayer Hawthorne’s chances of achieving Hall of Fame greatness? You gotta hit play to hear all this and more.
