The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is coming to Athens day after tomorrow (November 5th) to play at the Hugh Hodgson concert hall.  I play the works that they’ll be playing… you can use this either to prep for the concert, enjoy the concert from the comfort of your own home, or kick yourself that you missed the concert.

Tune in to the first hour of this post to hear a few scenes from Philip Glass’ 1976 minimalist opera “Einstein on the Beach!”  It’s pretty ridiclous!  After that is an interview with Heather McIntosh from local band Circulatory System where she talks about the upcoming Faust show!

Today we hear pieces that experiment with their form.  Click the link below to hear a sonata that’s both in one movement and four movements, an entire orchestra used as a solo instrument, and a piano concerto that puts the finale at the beginning!!  WHAAAAAA?
