Again I’ve been lagging behind in posting my Matter of Jazz stuffs due to some technical difficulties/personal ineptitude, but hopefully the anticipation has been building for the recordings of Trey Wright, Kenosha Kid, and others. Tonight’s post features a stern selection of jazz gems; first is the Kenosha Kid album sneak peak/interview from October 18th, during which Dan Nettles and Neal Fountain of Kenosha Kid came in to the WUOG studio to spin a test pressing of their new record, Fahrenheit, and share background and insights on their group and the new album:

also on the docket is the October 25 show, which featured a phone interview with Trey Wright that, though plagued by technical difficulties, yielded some great jazz conversation! here ya go:

there was no Matter of Jazz on November 1 due to UGA’s fall break, but tonight we just got done with blues night featuring Craig Waters & the Section. I’m going to hold off on posting their live performance because we are going to get a sweet cleaned up & edited version of the set to post up here so stay tuned for that! thanks again to Craig Waters & the Section, Dan Nettles, Neal Fountain, and Trey Wright for gracing the Matter of Jazz airwaves over the past few weeks. there will be no live performance next week but tune in anyway as I’ll be spinning jazz classics and favorites from the WUOG archives. Matter of Jazz also will be off the airwaves for the following two Sundays as I will be out of town celebrating the holidays, but be sure to tune in on December 6 as the Jake Mowrer group will be playing Christmas jazz for the final Matter of Jazz/Jazz in the Lobby of the semester!
