Here’s the show in its near-entirety. You cain’t dl it but you can definitely listen all you want! This is especially awesome, as sometimes live streamin’ likes live bufferin’.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Basically, it’s some poems and some dissertation by Mark Bilbrey, who was listening in a basement in Wisconsin. A big hug to all our readers (can we hug ourselves? sure we can): Nathan, Claire, Laura, Sarah dee, Daniel Jordan, and surprise reader Daniel Conlan! The first half of the show is a reading of Mark’s “The Dog Poems” by his own students, and the second half is a reading of a few excerpts of his dissertation “The Poetics of Prayer.”

Hope you guys enjoyed the show and will tune in regularly–that’s an order! Just kidding. But we do have a special pocket in our hearts and that’s where we put each and every one of our listeners. So, remember that, if you don’t have home one day, or have moved back in with your parents, or have just moved somewhere really far away like Wisconsin, you always gotta home in our heart-pocket.

News Update: Labor Day weekend is next weekend, and therefore, sadly, Purple Cow will be on hiatus until Sept. 12.

This weekend’s show will feature selections from Dr. Mark Bilbrey’s “The Dog Poems” and from his dissertation The Poetics of Prayer.” Bilbrey, who recently accepted a position at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, tests the elasticity of language. Purple Cow will be paying tribute to his excellent teaching and writing at the University of Georgia. Readers of Bilbrey’s works will be English under/graduates: Claire Paffenhoffer, Nathan Brand, Daniel Jordan, Sarah Dutcher, and Laura Leidner. Tune in at Noon EST, dudes!!
